Sean Thomas
Coach Sean comes to us as an accomplished water polo player who has been coaching since 2014. Before joining the Shores crew, he coached the 16s at CC United, helping guide them to a top 5 finish at JO’s the last two years. Before that, he coached 16s and was the High School Director at LAWPC, and, during his college years, coached at Stars and Stripes.
Sean found water polo when he was just 7 years old, playing at Rose Bowl. He went on to play for Loyola High School and then Pepperdine University (Class of 2019). While at Pepperdine, he was an All-American, Conference MVP, led the team in steals, and helped Pepperdine make NCAA for the first time since 1997. He was also a member of the USA Senior Team, Youth, Junior, and Cadet teams.
In addition to coaching water polo, Sean is a Sports and Family Chiropractor specializing in sports movement and recovery from sports injuries, focusing on concussion recovery. He also loves going to baseball and football games, hiking, exploring the city, surfing, and paddleboarding.
Coach Sean’s advice for young athletes:
“Understand that you are going to make mistakes, and it's okay. Understand that it is okay to ask for help. Life is all about learning and growing, but make sure you have fun and enjoy it.”
