Coach Ian was named the USAWP National Development Coach of the Year in 2013 and Zone chair of the year in 2014.  He is currently the Head National Developmental coach and Assistant Youth Team Coach for USA Water Polo. Before joining the Shores coaching team, he was the Director of the Rose Bowl Water Polo Boys’ Program, where he led the 14’s boys’ team to their first National title in club history at the 2016 Champions Cup in Hawaii.

Ian is also the Associate Head Coach with the boys’ and girls’ varsity teams at The Bishops Schools in La Jolla, where the girls have won 6 consecutive CIF Championships, and the boys have won 3 during his tenure. He has been named CIF Coach of the Year 5 times.
