
Coach Kate brings over three decades of experience, having played collegiately at Cal as a member of UC Berkeley’s inaugural varsity women’s team. In those early years, the Bears finished runner-up to UCLA in the National Women's Collegiate Championships - years Kate values playing with teammates and coach who went on to be part of the first Olympic women's team in Sydney 2000.
Internationally, Kate helped lead her team to a silver medal at Worlds Masters Championships in Singapore 2025 and in New Zealand at the World Masters Games where her team won the 2017 championship. Kate was named an All-American at Masters National Championships in 2019 and 2025 and continues to compete with masters teams today.
She is also an Olympic Development Program zone coach. Kate coached boys and girls at La Jolla High School and at San Diego Miramar College prior to joining San Diego Shores. When not at the pool, you can find Kate managing the chaos at home with her husband and five children.
