Coach Charlie grew up in Santee, playing water polo for Shores and at Santana High School. He started coaching with Shores in 2004; over the years he has coached 18U Boys, 18U Girls, and is currently the Head Coach for the 12U Boys team. He has also coached high school teams at Valhalla, CCA, and currently coaches at Patrick Henry, where he has been since 2012.
In addition to water polo, Charlie enjoys spending time outdoors–camping, fishing, surfing, and snowboarding. He and his wife Christina have two kids, Scarlett and Maverick, and a dog named Sandy.
Coach Charlie’s advice for young athletes:
“Be aware of your surroundings and remember you can learn something from everyone if you try. You have two ears and one mouth for a reason. . . (so you can listen twice as much as you talk).”
