Coach Kate appreciates coaching our 10U athletes and bringing over three decades of water polo experience along for the fun! Kate began playing on the boys team at Serra HS where she applied her swimming background to eventually excel and go on to varsity letter on the University of Califonia, Berkeley Women’s Water Polo Team. At Cal, Kate was coached by Olympian Maureen O’Toole where the Bears finished runner-up to UCLA in the National Women's Collegiate Championships (‘96-98). Internationally, she played in New Zealand, at the World Masters Games helping her team win the championship in 2017. In 2019, Kate was named an All-American at USAWP Masters National Championships and continues to compete with masters teams today. She also coaches for La Jolla High School boys and girls water polo, and the USAWP Olympic Development Program. Prior to her current coaching commitments, she coached at San Diego Miramar College. When not at the pool, Kate enjoys managing the chaos at home with her husband and five children.
